Studies show that students are more likely to succeed when they have good school attendance. And we’re not just talking about attendance in later school years. Showing up every day for preschool and kindergarten can have a big impact on kids being ready to read.

That’s one of the driving theories behind Ivanetta H. Davis Early Learning Center’s focus on attendance. Even for students at this Bordeaux preschool, attendance matters. Students are recognized monthly for good attendance. A few times a year, the school hosts attendance celebrations—compete with fun, snacks, a movie (and free childcare for parents)!

As a result, attendance has skyrocketed.
