Child Care Organization

It takes more than parents and families for a child to truly exceed. As a caretaker for Nashville children, you play a big role in the lives of the children in your neighborhood. While a child is in your care, you can make sure they fit in time to read or to be read to. This critical reading time can mean the difference between the children in your care growing up to drop out of high school or to have a successful career and future.

As a Jump In partner, here are a couple of ways you can get involved:

Spread the Word

Help us get our messaging out by displaying posters and window clings in high-visibility areas of your center. We want to remind families every day about the importance of reading.

Schedule Reading Time

Embed 20 minutes of read aloud or independent reading time into your daily schedule, year-round.

Participate in Summer
Challenge

Encourage children and staff in your organization to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge organized by the Nashville Public Library. Learn more here.

Set a Goal

Set a summer reading goal for your child care center (we’ll provide resources for setting good goals) and regularly celebrate your success.
