Who We Are

Jump In Nashville! is a citywide campaign bringing together an ever growing coalition of partners aiming to double the number of children reading on grade level by third-grade by 2025.

Right now, two in three Nashville third-graders are not reading on grade level. This is important stage in a child’s education – the transition from learning to read, to reading to learn. When children miss this early milestone, their chances of success are dramatically cut and the chances of them catching up are limited.

Nashville has a chance to change this and make sure all of our students are put on a path to succeed. We are challenging all Nashvillians to jump in on three key initiatives:
Image

Jump In Early!

Enroll in high-quality pre-K
Image

Jump In Often!

Read 20 minutes every day
Image

Jump In Always!

Make attendance a weekly family goal

These are key levers to grade-level reading and are priorities that everyone can support families and children to strive for. We need families, educators, youth program providers, local businesses, faith leaders — we need everyone — to jump in and help make sure all of our children have the chance at a brighter future.
